The Rawlings (Schutt) Hollywood Impact Kwik-Release varsity base features a safety design where the top of the base (white) disengages from the bottom platform (orange) upon a strong impact, greatly reducing the risk of player injury. The platform of the base (orange) is equipped with a 6" stanchion on its underside for mounting into a ground anchor (sold separately). The orange platform also features soft tabs that interconnect with the tabs on the underside of the top base (white). This varsity level breakaway style base require 26lbs of force to dislodge the top base from the base plate. The soft orange tabs are soft enough for players to slide over when the top base disengages. This varsity level Kwik-Release base has a higher resistance to disengage the base than the youth model (sold separately). Rawlings Hollywood Impact Kwik-Release bases are the official recommended base of the Babe Ruth League, Cal Ripken Baseball and are approved for Little League play.
